Description

GreenHer project aims to establish a European Centre of Excellence for cultural heritage sciences focused on environmental sustainability, which will be based at the University of Ljubljana (project coordinator). The project, selected in the 2023 European call for proposals “Teaming for Excellence”, brings together leading European institutions in the field of heritage to strengthen research and development capacity in Slovenia and to advance heritage sciences by focusing on environmental sustainability issues.

The Centre of Excellence will develop four research cores:

  1. Green conservation and restoration;
  2. Sustainable buildings and sites;
  3. Participatory engagement;
  4. Digital heritage, for the development of the Slovenian Cloud for Cultural Heritage (SCCH), linked to the ECCCH.

CNR ISPC will be responsible for mentoring activities, providing strategic guidelines for research, development and innovation in the cultural heritage sector, training, networking and exchanges, research and innovation in the fields of intangible heritage, sustainable cultural tourism, assessments of the value and significance of cultural heritage within different communities, intangible heritage, the integration of the circular economy in the reuse and regeneration of cultural heritage, Heritage Building Information Modelling and energy improvement of historical buildings, and impact assessment for projects related to cultural heritage.

In line with the European Green Deal and the New European Bauhaus, GreenHer will contribute to the development of research and innovation on the themes of sustainable tourism, development policies, management, care and heritage management in Slovenia and will establish itself as a leading institution in these fields at European level.

Il CNR è advanced partner di GreenHer, Centro di Eccellenza per una scienza del patrimonio sostenibile

Con il coordinamento di CNR ISPC, il CNR (con i suoi istituti CNR ISPC, CNR ISAC e CNR IPCB) è advanced partner di GreenHer Centre of Excellence in Green Heritage Science, uno dei 12 soli progetti selezionati nel competitivo bando europeo “Teaming for Excellence” del 2023.

Il progetto GreenHer ha lo scopo di realizzare un Centro di Eccellenza europeo per le scienze del patrimonio culturale orientate alla sostenibilità ambientale. Il nuovo Centro di Eccellenza sarà istituito presso l’Università di Lubiana (UL, coordinatrice del progetto) e vede tra i diversi partner, oltre al Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR), lo UCL Institute for Sustainable Heritage della UCL Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment (University College di Londra, UCL), l’Istituto per la tutela del patrimonio culturale della Slovenia (Zavod za Varstvo Kulturne Dediščine Slovenije, ZVKDS), l’Istituto per l’edilizia della Slovenia (Zavod za Gradbeništvo Slovenije, ZAG), l’Università del Litorale (Univerza na Primorskem, UP), l’Università di Maribor (Univerza v Mariboru, UM) e la Biblioteca Nazionale e Universitaria della Slovenia (Narodna in Univerzitetna Knjiznica, NUK).

Nei giorni 24 e 25 febbraio 2026 si è tenuto il kick-off meeting del progetto, presso il Museo Civico di Lubiana, dove i partner hanno condiviso visioni e obiettivi per il futuro del progetto.
