Research Director at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), specialized in Medieval History and Cultural Heritage Studies. Her work is characterized by a multidisciplinary approach to the study of landscapes, historical settlements, and monastic‑military orders in the Mediterranean. As leader and coordinator of numerous international projects, she has curated exhibitions, conferences, and major scientific outreach initiatives, contributing to the knowledge and valorization of archaeological, architectural, and anthropological cultural heritage.

Author of numerous monographs, essays, and edited volumes, she also carries out university teaching, advanced training, and consultancy activities for cultural institutions. She serves on international scientific committees, is a registered journalist, and an Advisory Member of the World Gastronomy Institute.
