Professional profile

Archaeologist | Etruscology | Material studies | Virtual Archaeology | Remote Sensing

My research focuses on archaeology and Etruscology, with particular attention to domestic and sacred contexts in pre-Roman Italy. I specialise in the study of materials and craft production in Northern Etruria, analysing technologies, manufacturing processes, and the socio-economic dynamics of the Etruscan communities of the area.

In parallel, I work on virtual archaeological reconstruction, employing digital methodologies both as research tools and for scientific visualisation and dissemination. Within this domain, I use BIM, ArchaeoBIM and HBIM approaches to integrate archaeological, architectural and documentary evidence into structured and semantically enriched 3D models.

I have extensive experience in photogrammetric and 3D recording, applied to the documentation of structures, artefacts and archaeological contexts. My workflow includes acquisition, processing and digital output generation. I also regularly employ GIS and related spatial technologies for spatial analysis, landscape modelling and landscape archaeology, with a specific interest in remote sensing techniques and in the integration of heterogeneous datasets within geographic environments.

Overall, my expertise lies at the intersection of archaeology, digital humanities and cultural heritage technologies, with a strong orientation toward interoperability, process transparency and the FAIR management and dissemination of archaeological data.
