Professional profile

Geophysicist |  Diagnosys scientist |  Cultural Heritage scientist |  Environmental scientist | GIS scientist

The research activities focuses on non-invasive Applied Geophysics methodologies for the study of archaeological and environmental issues. He is particularly interested in impulsive electromagnetic (Ground Penetrating Radar, GPR), electrical (electrical tomography and induced polarization in the time domain; spontaneous potentials), and microgravimetric survey techniques, as well as data organization and processing in GIS and GMS environments, with 3D reconstruction of models related to archaeological stratigraphy, geology, hydrogeology, and geophysics.

The main research topics focus on:

  • Geophysical methods applied to archaeology and monumental heritage;
  • Geostatistical analysis;
  • Geophysical surveys for the assessment of hydrogeological and landslide risks in historic centers, particularly archaeological sites;
  • Subsurface pollutant diffusion;
  • Integrated geophysical surveys for geological, geotechnical, hydrogeological, and environmental studies;
  • 3D modeling of the subsurface layers (geological, hydrogeological, and archaeological stratigraphy).
