I carry out research and scientific coordination activities in the field of digital technologies applied to cultural heritage and research digital infrastructures.

I am scientific head of the Digital Heritage Innovation Lab for the Lecce site and of the Scientific Fabrication Laboratory (SCI-FabLab) at CNR ISPC, where I coordinate experimental research activities on digital platforms, IoT systems, digital twins, heterogeneous data integration, and advanced tools for the documentation, monitoring, and preventive conservation of cultural heritage.

I also serve as scientific head for CNR of the DI4CH Lab – Digital Innovation for Cultural Heritage, a joint laboratory between CNR ISPC and the University of Salento, dedicated to the development and experimentation of digital solutions for heritage research and valorisation.

As head of the DIGILAB.it platform of the Italian National Node for E-RIHS ERIC, I am responsible for the definition of architectures, services, and socio-technical models supporting access to, management of, and interoperability among Heritage Science data, in accordance with the principles of Open Science, semantic interoperability, and FAIR data.

My research activity lies at the intersection of technological experimentation, digital infrastructure design, and support to scientific and institutional communities, with the aim of fostering the transfer of digital solutions from research to operational adoption.
