He holds a degree in Geological Sciences and a PhD in Environmental and Resource Geology, and his research focuses on the development and application of non-invasive geophysical techniques for subsurface analysis and characterization in geological, environmental, and engineering contexts, as well as for geoarchaeological applications and cultural heritage conservation.
His work is centered on the multi-parametric integration of geophysical and geological data for 2D and 3D stratigraphic and structural modeling of the subsurface, supported by advanced signal processing and inversion techniques. He operates in complex geological settings and in areas characterized by high natural vulnerability, contributing to studies on seismic microzonation (local site effects), active fault characterization, landslide structures, and saltwater intrusion in coastal environments.
He has developed extensive experience in the design, execution, and interpretation of high- and ultra-high-resolution geophysical surveys (GPR, seismic methods, electrical resistivity tomography, and magnetometry) in terrestrial, marine, and transitional coastal environments. In parallel, he applies these methodologies to geoarchaeology and non-invasive diagnostics for cultural heritage, supporting documentation, monitoring, and conservation activities.
He contributes to the activities of the CNR ISPC Geophysics Lab within the Mobile Laboratory (MOLAB) of E-RIHS.it, the Italian node of the European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science (E-RIHS), participating in competitive access projects at both national and European levels.
He is involved in national and European research projects and actively engaged in scientific dissemination, training, and peer review for national and international journals in the fields of applied geophysics and Heritage Science.
