Heritage Science | Non-invasive Techniques | Technical Photography | Spectroscopies | Ancient Polychromy | Archaeometry
She holds an MS in Science for Conservation and a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences. Her scientific activity focuses on an interdisciplinary approach to Heritage Science, integrating chemical analysis and conservation science. Her research focuses on non-invasive and micro-invasive diagnostic protocols for the characterization of polychrome artworks and the assessment of their state of conservation. A specialized research line focuses on archaeometric studies and the development of methodologies for reconstructing the original polychromy of classical statuary, achieved through the use of imaging techniques, portable non-destructive (ND) instrumentation, and advanced digital approaches.
She coordinates national research projects focused on the diagnostics of heritage materials. Her international activity includes participation in EU-funded programs (FP6, FP7, H2020, and Horizon Europe) and contributions to the Italian node E-RIHS.it of the European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science (E-RIHS).
