Demographer, International Migrations Specialist | Population and Sustainable Development | Enhancement of Human Capital

Graduated in Statistical, Demographic and Social Sciences, she earned a PhD in Demography and Economy of Great Geographical Areas. Her research fields include the relationship between population, environment, and development in Mediterranean countries, the analysis of human mobility and development dynamics, the enhancement of human capital and cultural heritage in societies in transition (Sudan) and science diplomacy. She also held the position of Principal Investigator for the projects “A new Sudan through culture, technology and innovation” (SudanInnovation, 2020-2021) and “Innovation in society: training paths and human capital enhancement in Sudan” (INSO, 2017-2019).

In 2014, as a senior foreign researcher, she won an iPOPs fellowship (Individuals, Populations, Societies) at the “Laboratorie of Excellence” of the National Institute for Demographic Studies (INED) in Paris, offered by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research and Space.

She has been awarded with research fellowships at “Centre d’Études et de Documentation Économiques, Juridiques et Sociales” (CEDEJ - Khartoum, 2011), INED (Paris, 2013), and has extensive scientific experience in Morocco at Mohammed V - Agdal University.
