Professional profile
Archaeozoologist | Human-Animal Interactions | Mammal and Bird Specialist | Funal Remains Biometry
I have deep knowledge of Italian, European and Levantine zooarchaeology from the Iron Age to the medieval/early modern period. I am senior zooarchaeologist at research projects in Italy, England, Jordan, Israel and Greece to investigate human-animal interactions through time.
During my carrier, beside the study of mammals, amphibians, reptiles, molluscs and fish, I dedicated particular attention to investigate the role of birds in human life.
I have been Liaison of the Bird Working Group of the International Council of Archaeozoology (ICAZ) and, since November 2021, I’m executive committee member of the Associazione Italiana di Archeozoologia (AIAZ).
