Classical archaeologist. He holds the National scientific qualification for full professorship in classical archaeology and is a member of the Technical-Scientific Committee of the Archaeological Park of Sibari and Crotone and of the Central Institute for Archaeology (ICA).

His work focuses on the study of material culture of the classical world, with particular attention to the reconstruction of production systems, trade, and the use of ceramic artefacts in the Hellenistic and Roman periods. He is also engaged in methodological issues, especially in the development of digital solutions for the management, protection, and promotion of cultural heritage.

He conducts urban archaeology investigations and heuristic and predictive analyses of archaeological potential, with a focus on ancient topography, the reconstruction of urban and extra-urban contexts and landscapes, and the design and development of databases and information systems to support research, management, protection, and enhancement of historical and archaeological sites.

Over the past decade, he has collaborated extensively with universities and research institutes, participating in archaeological excavations and national and international research projects, often with scientific coordination roles (Pompeii Sustainable Preservation Project, Augustus, Archeofish, Cloud4City, OpenCity, Technic, Experimental Project for the Enhancement of the Amphitheatre of Catania).

His research interests, reflected in numerous publications and monographs, combine methodological approaches to archaeological research and ancient topography. They range from the study of material evidence of the classical world to the reconstruction of ancient landscapes, as well as strategies for communication and dissemination of research results.
