Architecture | Knowledge-Based Built Heritage Conservation & Restoration | Diagnostic Analysis for Heritage Conservation | HBIM & Digital Twins | Heritage Data & Interoperability | Energy & Climate Analysis
Her research focuses on the processes of knowledge, conservation and restoration of historic built heritage, as well as on its enhancement and sustainable management, through integrated approaches combining historical analysis, conservation practice and advanced digital technologies.
Her main research areas include architectural conservation and preventive conservation, Heritage Building Information Modeling (HBIM), Digital Twins for cultural heritage, HBIM–GIS integration, semantic models and ontologies for knowledge representation, multiscale digital survey, and energy-environmental and climate analysis of historic buildings and sites. She develops and applies Scan-to-BIM and GIS-to-BIM workflows, parametric modelling and decision-support tools supporting diagnostic phases, conservation planning and restoration design.
She is the scientific head of the CNR ISPC Built Heritage Innovation Lab and coordinates national and international research projects funded by European, ministerial and regional programmes, promoting interdisciplinary and international cooperation. Her activities include scientific coordination, mentoring and capacity building, contributing to the development of innovative strategies and tools for the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
