Vite e vino dal Campo ai Musei. Le due Culture in un bicchiere
Acronym: ViCaM
Description
The aim of the project is to foster development in the wine tourism sector, in accordance with the guidelines set out in the Decree of the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies of 12 March 2019, through the creation of a model for enhancing a component of rural cultural heritage represented by viticultural biodiversity, understood as the ensemble of grape varieties and wines, and by the related agricultural landscape, consisting of historic and heroic vineyards.
The research is conducted through multidisciplinary exploration at the molecular biological, historical, genetic, archaeological, and anthropological levels, focusing on the cultural context in which vine cultivation in Basilicata has developed over the centuries, from grape varieties to yeasts and the associated rural heritage. This research introduces innovative elements into the knowledge chain of the autochthonous ampelographic heritage and of specific wine products, such as passito wines, strengthening the processing and cultural integration of data. The planned activities involve wine-growing and wine-producing farms as well as museums and archaeological parks in Basilicata in a comprehensive reinterpretation of rural cultural heritage, both material and living vegetal, and in the transfer of the acquired knowledge through unconventional approaches.
