Special Issue of “Digital Applications in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage” on digital color by Elsevier

Online the Special Issue Digital Color in Cultural Heritage: issues and methodologies in acquisition, rendering and digital conservation, directed by Sofia Ceccarelli (CNR ISPC) and Alessandro Rizzi (Dept. of Computer Science, University of Milano), within the online journal Digital Applications in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage (DAACH) that supports open access published by Elsevier.

Call for Papers

Color is an important and complex feature of heritage items, fundamental in Cultural Heritage preservation and valorization, as well as a crucial feature to characterize and digitize.

This issue wants to address and explore all the topics and issues related to the use of color in heritage preservation in art history, archaeology and museum contexts, like e.g. color analysis in terms of materials and conservation, digital/virtual/3D rendering, virtual restoration, color acquisition, spectral-color conversion, metameric mismatch, dissemination, storage, multidisciplinary approaches, advanced technologies.

Original research, case studies and short reviews will focus on the challenges, issues and new perspectives in heritage science associated with color studies of ancient and modern artefacts.
