BIS_Beautiful, Inclusive, Sustainable. Second-Half Twentieth-Century Architecture Tested by Energy Improvement

ASX 2 | SEZIONE I | Azione 1

Acronym: BIS

Description

The research focuses on balancing conservation requirements and sustainable development goals, starting from a precise definition of the “quality” criterion to be recognized in the energy-retrofitting interventions under examination. The project frames this notion through an equal dialogue between architectural restoration and architectural technology, building a critical overview of Italian and international experiences. Its multidisciplinary team, involving both public and private partners, aims to lay the foundations for a procedural protocol to guide interventions on contemporary architectural heritage toward energy improvement, within the framework of preventive and planned conservation and in continuity with the 2024 DGABAP Framework Agreement.
