Senior researcher at CNR ISPC in Naples and a member of the teaching staff of the National Doctorate in Heritage Science at La Sapienza University in Rome. Her teaching activities include numerous specialist courses and seminars in medieval history at the Università Orientale in Naples and other foreign universities. Her research interests include the social and economic history of the Mediterranean in the late Middle Ages, with particular attention to the Kingdoms of the Crown of Aragon.

She is currently conducting research on notaries and the use of machine learning techniques for historical sources, as well as research on the organisation of charity and the development of confraternities in southern Italy during the late Middle Ages. She has never abandoned her research on the role of women in the economy of the medieval South and her interest in all types of “archives” and “memory”, which today also includes digital archives.

She has been collaborating for years on various projects with the University of Barcelona, the University of Castile-La Mancha, the University of Creta and the CSIC in Barcelona.
