Archaeology of Castrum Inui: a sacred and maritime site in the Tyrrhenian landscape of Latium vetus (Italy)

Acronym: ARCI

Description

The Archaeology of Castrum Inui project aims to investigate the archaeological site of Castrum Inui (Latium), an exceptional sacred and port complex active from the Archaic age until Late Antiquity. The area, characterized by the coexistence of a sanctuary (with temples, shrine and fortifications) and a statio maritima, represents a privileged case study to analyze the religious, economic and cultural relations between Rome and the other centers of the central Mediterranean. The project intends to valorize a largely unpublished archaeological heritage through a multidisciplinary approach that integrates stratigraphic analysis, typological and archaeometric study, and the use of advanced technologies for 3D surveying and modeling.
